Musketeers Add Defenseman Nate Clurman from Des Moines

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Musketeers made a move in the early hours of Wednesday morning, sending defenseman Lucas Bahn to the Des Moines Buccaneers in exchange for defenseman Nate Clurman.
Clurman, a 6'2" 194 pound right handed shot, has bounced around the USHL a bit this season starting the year with the Tri-City Storm. In 23 games for Tri-City, Clurman recorded three points on three assists and was a +3 before being traded to the Buccaneers in early January. In 15 games for Des Moines, Clurman had a goal and two assists and was a -2.
While his offensive totals are on the low side that is not why the Musketeers acquired the big defenseman. Head Coach Luke Strand feels Clurman can enter into the top 4 right away, and give the back end some stability and experience heading into the home stretch of the season. "We're excited to add Nate's ability, size, and experience to our back end. We feel he can help us in situational play as we start the playoff push" said Coach Strand.
Clurman , a native of Boulder Colorado, is committed to the University of Notre Dame for the 2018-19 season but was already drafted by his local NHL team, the Colorado Avalanche, in the 6th round of the 2016 NHL Draft. Clurman will wear #6 for the Musketeers and the plan is to have him in the lineup against the Madison Capitols.
