Nashville Kats News Release
NASHVILLE (May 23, 2005) â Nashville Kats quarterback Leon Murray, who injured his knee in Sunday's 45-21 season-ending loss to Chicago, got good news on Monday, as an MRI showed no serious damage to the knee.
Murray (6-3, 212) injured the knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game as he tried to pick up a fumble. The former Tennessee State star had missed three games earlier this season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on the same knee. No further surgery is expected.
Murray did not throw an interception in the final six weeks of the season, and finished 2005 with a 6-6-1 record as a starter. He originally injured the knee in the Kats' week one win over Columbus. He continued to play on it until Nashville's week four game at New York, but he finally was forced to undergo surgery on March 7 that sidelined him for three games. He finished the season with 48 touchdowns and 10 INT's, while completing 60.1 percent of his passes.
