
Munoz-Airey Earns PSL "Team of the Week" Honors

(Tampa, FL) - The United Soccer Leagues announced the week two weekly honors for the 2004 season. Among the list for the Pro Soccer League "Team of the Week" is Charlotte Eagles rookie forward Juan Munoz-Airey. The UNC-Charlotte graduate was recognized for his two goal performance in Friday nights match against the Wilmington Hammerheads at Wilmington. Juan had the only two goals for the Eagles, who lost 3-2 in a tough fought battle with the rival Hammerheads.
Juan is in his first season with the Charlotte Eagles, and looks to be a promising addition to the squad. He is a native of Medillin, Colombia and grew up in Naples, Florida. At UNC-Charlotte Juan was named 3rd Team All-Conference USA in 2000 and 2001.

"Juan brings speed and creativity to our offense, with the ability to take defenders on one on one and create scoring chances. He did this last Saturday night in Wilmington for his second goal of the game" commented Eagles Head Coach Mark Steffens.
Juan Munoz-Airey and the Charlotte Eagles return to the home field on Friday night, April 30th to take on the Harrisburg City Islanders. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm at beautiful Waddell Stadium (7030 Nations Ford Road, Charlotte, NC), the home of the Eagles and Lady Eagles in 2004. Friday night is also POWERade Schedule Magnet Night. The first 1500 fans through the gate will receive a FREE POWERade Schedule Magnet with the Charlotte Eagles and Lady Eagles 2004 schedules. It's sure to be a night of Awesome Soccer, Awesome Fun with contests, halftime games, the Coke Soccer Inflatable, and a live post-game concert by Soul Purpose.
