Mudbugs vs. Defending Champion Colorado in Round Two

BOSSIER CITY, LA -- With a Game 7 win last night, the defending CHL Champion Colorado Eagles solidified a best-of-seven matchup against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the 2006 Northern Conference Finals, which will begin in Colorado next week. The Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs feature three best-of-seven rounds for the Central Hockey League championship.
The two rivals have had numerous meetings over the last three seasons, but none in the playoffs. The Mudbugs, who defeated the Wichita Thunder in five games of the first round, will be playing in their seventh Conference Final in their nine years. The Eagles, who won the 2005 President's Cup Championship, defeated Oklahoma City in seven games to advance to the second round this year.
During the regular season, the Mudbugs went 1-3-0 versus Colorado and are 4-7-0 against the Eagles all-time. Colorado had the league's best record during the 2005-2006 regular season at 44-14-6, finishing four points ahead of the Mudbugs.
