Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release

OZARK, MO – The Springfield-Ozark Mountain Ducks announced Brandon Mozley will return as the new Pitching Coach for the Mountain Ducks in the 2002 season beginning Friday, May 17th. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity and thankful to Phil for giving me a chance to be pitching coach," Mozley commented. He will continue his duties on the mound in addition to his added coaching responsibilities. Mozley, 8 wins and 9 losses as a starter in the pitching rotation, finished the 2001 season with a 3.77 ERA.

"I'm excited to have Brandon for a new pitching coach, I feel he has had very good experience at the minor league level with pitching coach Tom House," remarked manager Phil Wilson. "He will not only be a great asset to the Ducks by being able to communicate with the other players but will give them excellent instruction as well."

The upcoming season marks Mozley's 5th season in the Central Baseball League (formerly the Texas-Louisiana League). "I hope my experience in the league will help our young pitching staff we plan on bringing in," commented Mozley. Mozley takes over for Mike Smith who's pitching staff was 4th in the league last season with a 4.73 team ERA.
