
Mountaineers to begin training camp

The Mountaineers, who finished in second place in the Western Division of the International Basketball League in 2006, will begin training camp March 16th at Mt. Baker Middle School in Auburn. Coach Don Sims, who was the Western Conference "Coach of the Year" last season, is excited to get the 2007 season started.
The 2007 team roster has 6 former Division players, including Marques Hayden (Kansas State), Chauncey Jones (Alabama) and Sneed Deaderick (DePaul), and 2 international recruits, Peter Gecelovsky (Slovakia) and Aleksey Adediran (Russia). The Mountaineers will play the toughest schedule in the IBL with 22 away games and 3 home games played at Bellevue Community College. The schedule includes a 10 day road trip that has the Mountaineers playing 8 games in these locations; Santa Barbara, Phoenix, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana.
