Morgan Lewis and Alex Johnson Named to 2014 NBL Canada All-Star Team

(Mississauga, ON - ) The Mississauga Power are excited to announce that two members of the team have made the 2014 NBL Canada All-Star team. Guard Morgan Lewis will be making his second appearance as an all-star while #1 overall pick Alex Johnson will represent one of three Canadians on the Central Division squad. Lewis was selected to his first all-star appearance after making history when he was selected by the Oshawa Power with the top pick in the league's inaugural season. Johnson, who also made history as the first ever Canadian top pick will be playing his first all-star game for the Power in the team's inaugural season in Mississauga. The Power's two all-stars also both proudly call GTA their home and will be representing Mississauga in Charlottetown.
Morgan Lewis returned to the Power this season after winning the championship with the London Lightning in the 2012-2013 campaign. In his second stint with the Power, Lewis averaged career highs of 17.2 points and 7.6 rebounds while adding 3.5 assists per game. Lewis also had an impressive stretch to end the season, averaging 25.4 points per game through the final 13 games.
Alex Johnson was the first ever Canadian to be drafted with the top pick in the NBL Canada draft. Johnson played in all 44 games for the Power this season, leading the team in both assists and steals with 261 and 53 respectively. "Superman" Johnson demonstrated his versatility this season, nearing a triple double on more than one occasion.
The Power's dynamic duo will look to hook up on more lobs and dunks when the 2014 NBL Canada All-Star weekend tips off from April 19-20 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
