Mooseheads Win It Late to End Wildcats Streak

The Halifax Mooseheads rallied for three third period goals to get by the Wildcats 6-4 before a large Sunday Funday crowd of 5,800 fans at Avenir Centre. The Cats had won six straight games entering the Sunday matchup.

Moncton led 4-3 after forty minutes on goals by Charles Beaudoin (21st), Oscar Plandowski (6th), Max Barbarshev (28th), and Jonas Taibel (11th). Beaudoin added two assists and was selected the game's 1st Star.

Alexandre Doucet fired three goals for the Mooseheads - including the empty netter - giving him 52 on the season.

Jacob Steinman was tagged with the loss, despite making 39 saves. The Cats directed 20 shots at Mathis Rousseau.

The Wildcats visit the Oceanic in Rimouski Wednesday night at 8pm. Moncton trails 3rd-place Rimouski by two points in the Eastern Conference standings, with a game in hand. The next home ice action is Friday night at 7 pm against the Charlottetown Islanders. The WIldcats will be wearing spcial St. Paddy's Day theme jerseys that will be availabale for auction post-game on-line.
