The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced today they have signed defenceman Nick Kuiper to an American Hockey League contract.
Kuiper, 24, appeared in 70 games last year with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL where he scored two goals and seven assists for nine points and 104 penalty minutes. He finished second on the Admirals in plus/minus with a +16 rating. In two seasons with Norfolk, the Montreal, PQ native has appeared in 143 games where he's scored five goals and 12 assists for 17 points and 213 penalty minutes.
In 118 games in two seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Kuiper scored 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points and 118 penalty minutes with the Minutemen.
