Fresno, Calif. - MONSTERS WEEKLY is a weekly review of everything Monsters Hockey: weekend game recap, player and goalie stats, player spotlight, and upcoming events.

The WSHL Monsters will head to El Paso, Texas this week for the Thorne Cup Championship Tournament. The Monsters play the Idaho Jr. Steelheads Thursday at 1pm P.S.T., Dallas Ice Jets Friday at 1pm P.S.T., and the El Paso Rhinos on Saturday at 6:30pm P.S.T. The best two teams from the round robin tournament will battle again Sunday for the Thorne Cup and the Western States Hockey League championship at 3:30pm P.S.T. Fans can catch the games live on b2livetv.com.

The NAHL Monsters will finish the 2011-2012 regular season on the road this weekend against the Wenatchee Wild Friday and Saturday at 7:05pm. Catch those games live on nahl.fasthockey.com. The Fresno Monsters are currently in the 4th and final playoff spot for the west division, two points ahead of 5th place Kenai River Brown Bears. NAHL WEEKEND RECAP

NAHL Fresno Monsters vs. Wenatchee Wild

Fri., 3/23/12- Fresno 3, Wenatchee 0:

Tomas Sholl and the Fresno Monsters blanked the Wenatchee Wild, stopping all 35 shots on net including 4 power play chances.

Sat., 3/24/12- Fresno 3, Wenatchee 2 (Overtime):

The Monsters completed the weekend sweep of the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday, winning by a final score of 3-2 in overtime. This is the first time in two seasons that the Monsters defeated Wenatchee in both games in a weekend series.

NAHL PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

TOMAS SHOLL: Sholl continues to shine for the Monsters in net. This week the NAHL named him 1st Star of the Week for his contribution in Fresno's weekend sweep of the Wenatchee Wild at Selland Arena.

BRENDAN BRADLEY: Bradley was named #1 star of the game on Saturday night with an assist and a thrilling game-winning overtime goal. He leads the Monsters in scoring with 49 points in 48 games this season.

KARL ANDERSEN: Andersen had a great night Friday against the Wenatchee Wild, scoring two goals. His first goal came just 1:30 into the 1st period and would go on to be the game-winning goal for the Monsters.
