Fresno, Calif. - MONSTERS WEEKLY is a weekly review of everything Monsters Hockey: weekend game recap, player and goalie stats, player spotlight, and upcoming events.
The NAHL Monsters head to Wenatchee, Washington this weekend in the first leg of a three-week road trip to Washington and Alaska.
The WSHL Monsters have a weekend off before beginning round one of the 2012 WSHL Thorne Cup Playoffs at Gateway Ice Center in a best-of-three series against the Arizona Redhawks on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10 at 5:00pm, and Sunday, March 11 at 10:15am if necessary. Admission is $7 per person, and seating is first-come, first-serve. Friday and Saturday, the playoff games will include tailgate parties before and after the games, chuck-a-puck contests, food and merchandise booths, and a live performance on Saturday by local rock band Stone River.

NAHL Fresno Monsters vs. Fairbanks Ice Dogs Selland Arena "" Fresno, CA
Fri., 2/24/12 "" Fresno 3, Ice Dogs 4: Despite a 3rd period comeback attempt, the Fresno Monsters fell short to the Division leading Ice Dogs.
Sat., 2/25/12 "" Fresno 1, Ice Dogs 3: After two periods of being tied up 1-1, the Ice Dogs came up with a late goal in the 3rd period to take the lead and win with a final score of 3-1.
NAHL MONSTER PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
FILIP WINKLER: Winker notched two points on Friday night against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs with one goal and one assist.
TOMAS SHOLL: Sholl continues to be solid in net for the Monsters this season. He is tied for 8th in the league with a goals-against average of 2.27 per game. He is also tied for 10th in the league with a save percentage of .919 in 29 games played.
DOMINIC VALENCIA: Valencia added a helper in Friday night's game against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. On Saturday he also tallied a power play goal for the Monsters.
