Monarchs waive Dionnah Jackson and Cisti Greenwalt

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., May 17, 2006 - The Sacramento Monarchs today announced that the organization has waived guard Dionnah Jackson and center Cisti Greenwalt.

The Monarchs invited Jackson and Greenwalt to training camp on February 9, 2006. Jackson appeared in 18 minutes of play and scored three points vs. New York on May 4. She also scored played 10 minutes vs. Connecticut on May 9.

This was the second consecutive season Greenwalt attended Monarchs Training Camp. Sacramento also waived her last year in 2005. During the 2006 WNBA preseason, Greenwalt appeared in the Monarchs first two preseason games playing nine and 10 minutes, respectively.

The Monarchs camp roster now stands at fourteen, with nine returning players (DeMya Walker on maternity leave), two draft picks and three free agents. The final roster needs to be trimmed to 13 total players by 12:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, May 19.

On Saturday, May 20, the Monarchs will be nationally televised on ABC, for the WNBA's Opening Day, against the Phoenix Mercury, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, at ARCO Arena, to include the Championship Ring Ceremony.
