
Monarchs Waive Allen, Boddie and Warburton

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., June 4, 2009 - The Sacramento Monarchs today waived guards Charel Allen, Whitney Boddie and Morgan Warburton.
Allen was the Monarchs third round (43rd overall) 2008 WNBA Draft pick and appeared in six games last season. She appeared in both Monarchs preseason games in 2009 averaging 9.5 minutes, 1.0 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.5 blocks per game.
Boddie, the Monarchs second round (20th overall) 2009 WNBA Draft pick, played in both Monarchs preseason games and averaged 21.0 minutes, 2.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Warburton was the Monarchs third round (33rd overall) selection in the 2009 WNBA Draft. She played in both Monarchs preseason games averaging 11.5 minutes, 7.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.
The Monarchs camp roster now stands at 12, with 11 veterans and one draft pick.
The Monarchs open their 13th WNBA season at ARCO Arena as they take on the Seattle Storm, on Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m., PDT. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Opening Day pin and Thunderstix. Following their first game of the 2009 season, the Monarchs travel to Seattle on June 7 before returning to ARCO Arena for a match-up with the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, June 12, at 7 p.m.
