
Monarchs Guard Penicheiro suffers left ankle sprain

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., SEPT. 6, 2005 - Sacramento Monarchs guard Ticha Penicheiro suffered a left ankle sprain during Tuesday's practice. Penicheiro went in for an X-ray Tuesday afternoon and findings are normal, she is currently day-to-day.
Penicheiro, the WNBA's all-time assists leader, is averaging 11 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 32 minutes per game through two playoff games.
The Monarchs will head to Houston for the first game of the Western Conference Finals beginning Thursday, September 8, at 6:00 p.m.. PDT, to be televised on ESPN.
The Monarchs will return home to Sacramento for games two and three (if necessary). Game two will be on Saturday, September 10, at 2:30 p.m. PDT, televised on ESPN2 and game a possible game three will be on Sunday, September 11, at 12:00 p.m. PDT, televised on ESPN2.
