
Monarchs Announce Sixth Consecutive Opening Night Sellout

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 31, 2007 - The 2006 Western Conference Champion Sacramento Monarchs announced today that Opening Night on Saturday, June 2, 2007, versus the Los Angeles Sparks, is sold out for the sixth consecutive season.
"Once again, this is an extremely exciting event for both the Monarchs organization and the City of Sacramento," said Danette Leighton, vice president of Monarchs business operations for Maloof Sports & Entertainment. "We are incredibly thankful to our fans and for the support of the community. The Monarchs continue to own the longest Opening Night sell-out streak in the WNBA."
On Saturday, June 2, before tip-off, the Monarchs will unveil their 2006 Western Conference Championship banner for the first time. Last season, the Monarchs defeated the Sparks 2-0 to win the Western Conference Championship and advance to the WNBA Finals for the second straight year.
With tickets starting at just $10, Sacramento Monarchs games offer exciting, affordable, summer entertainment for the whole family. The Sacramento Monarchs will play 17 regular season home games at ARCO Arena and will feature special events at select games throughout the season.
