MNUFC2 at NTX Preview
June 26, 2022 - MLS NEXT Pro (MLS NEXT Pro)
Minnesota United FC 2 News Release
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- MNUFC2 returns to action this weekend following two weeks without a regular-season match. In their most recent contest on June 8, MNUFC2 saw their unbeaten streak snapped in dramatic fashion by Earthquakes II. San Jose opened the scoring with a PK converted by Eduardo Blancas just before half. The Loons struck back in the 90th minute when Diogo Pacheco netted the game-tying goal. However, San Jose's Jerry Ayon scored shortly after in the second minute of added stoppage time to secure all three points for the home side.
The Loons now look to revive their winning ways against North Texas SC on Sunday at Choctaw Stadium. The last time the two sides met in March, it marked the first franchise game for Minnesota United's MLS NEXT Pro team. The inaugural match ended as a 3-1 loss for the Loons, but MNUFC2 gained their footing since then and sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with 21 points. To see if MNUFC2 are able to bounce back and take down their Texan counterparts for the first time, stream the game at www.mlsnextpro.com, tonight, Sunday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
