It's another battle in the tightly contested Western Conference on MLS Primetime Thursday, as Houston Dynamo once again play host to the ESPN2 showcase, this time facing Chivas USA. The teams are separated by just a single point and come in riding winning runs. Dynamo sit in third place after 10 days off, having capped off three victories in a week in their last outing. Chivas USA ran their winning streak to three and unbeaten streak to five with a victory against Colorado at the weekend, putting them a point ahead of Houston into second place in the division.

Chivas claimed a 2-1 first leg victory at The Home Depot Center as goalkeeper Brad Guzan saved a penalty to ensure the win (Razov 45, Palencia 68 - Ching 75), then Dynamo won 2-0 at Robertson Stadium a week later (Davis 64 pen, Ching 93+, to advance 3-2 on aggregate on their way to winning MLS Cup.
