Matching the Eastern Conference champions for the last two seasons, one of the more heated rivalries over the past few years kicks off again in Foxborough. D.C. United have already secured their place in the MLS Cup Playoffs and now are trying to hold on to the MLS Supporters' Shield awarded to league's best regular season team, though they've won just once since mid-July. The New England Revolution are still in the thick of a race for playoff survival, but now with a five-point gap on fifth place New York with six games to play, they have a little more breathing room.
