The I-95 rivals meet for the first time on the season with first place in the Eastern Conference on the line. The New York Red Bulls return home after a three-game road trip where they put an end to a four-game winless run in the finale - and in the process, moved from fifth place to first in the East. Now returning home for five games in a row, they lead the New England Revolution by a point in the table; the Revolution have just one win in their last six games, with five of those at Gillette Stadium.

A pair of teams near the top of their respective conferences face off in the nation's capital when FC Dallas makes its only trip to face D.C. United this season. United dropped out of first place in the Eastern Conference in their last league match, a loss in Houston that was just their second since the beginning of May. FC Dallas hasn't played a league game since July 4, a win against Chivas USA that was their fourth in six games, and in the meantime has seen Houston Dynamo pull into a tie atop the Western Conference standings entering the week.

When these two teams last met in Kansas City, a late goal from current Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis put a dagger into the Wizards' playoff hopes. Now the teams come together at Arrowhead Stadium, both trying to reverse recent slides. The Wizards haven't won since June 2 - when Eddie Johnson scored the second of his back-to-back hat tricks - and now for the first time since K.C. will have their U.S. international striker back in the fold. Chivas USA return home from a cross-country road trip to take on one of the hottest teams in MLS when they face the Columbus Crew for the second time this season. Chivas took one point from their two games on the road, and this meeting with the Crew is their last home game for nearly six weeks. The Crew are unbeaten in their last six games, winning for the fourth time in that run last time out. The teams played earlier this year, reaching a 1-1 draw at Crew Stadium in May.

In the final league match before the MLS All-Star break, Houston Dynamo have a chance to create history when they take on Toronto FC for the second time this season. Dynamo haven't lost since the start of June - and haven't allowed a goal now in more than 10 hours of play, and are just 77 minutes from the league shutout record.
