Racked by international absences, Toronto FC return home to try and keep their current run going, playing host to a Colorado Rapids team looking to maintain its own surging form. After opening their history with four losses in a row, TFC has posted two victories and a draw in their last four games, but will see no fewer than 10 players away this weekend to national team duty. The Rapids are unbeaten over their last four games with two wins and two draws, and have won their last two games on the road.

A week after seeing their long undefeated run come to an end, the New England Revolution remain at home, taking on still-winless Real Salt Lake. The Revolution lost to Kansas City last Saturday in Foxborough, their first loss since Opening Day, a seven-game span, and are now tied with New York for the most points in MLS. Real are looking for their first victory on the campaign after eight games - and Jason Kreis is also still looking for his, with three draws in four matches after taking over as head coach.

An intriguing battle for the top of the Eastern Conference is in store as the Kansas City Wizards play host to the New York Red Bulls at Arrowhead Stadium. Sporting the league's best defensive performance, allowing just half a goal per game, the Red Bulls also have the league's best overall record and are coming off a pair of heavy shutout victories. The Wizards boast one of the league's most potent attacks and are just a point off the pace in the East, coming off an impressive victory of their own, a 4-3 win in New England against a team riding a lengthy unbeaten run and, at the time, the league's best record.

Since the early days of the league it's been the biggest intersectional rivalry and it occurs again on Saturday night, as the two most decorated teams in MLS history meet when D.C. United travels to face the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Galaxy have endured a slow start to their season, with just one win in six games on the campaign. It's the first intrastate battle for "El Capitán", the 18th-century cannon awarded to the victor of the season series between Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas, as the two face off Sunday in south Texas in the initial of four meetings this year. Current holders of Lone Star State bragging rights, the defending MLS champion Dynamo have struggled, having now lost five of their last six games with just five goals scored on the season. FC Dallas saw a three-game winning streak come to an end last weekend when they fell to Chivas USA on the West Coast.

After a winless month of May, the Chicago Fire remain at home for the second consecutive weekend when they play host to the Columbus Crew. After three wins and a draw to start the season, the Fire lost four matches on the trot before stemming the tide with a scoreless draw against Real Salt Lake last weekend.
