MLS Week 20: August 9-10, 2008

(All times Eastern)

Saturday, August 9

Toronto FC at Colorado Rapids, 4:00 p.m. (FSC, FSE)

It's a case of Jekyll and Hyde for the Rapids - They rank first with 22 goals scored in the second half of games, but they've scored a League-low five goals in the first stanza of their 18 games. Toronto FC enter this match on a 10-game winless streak in all competitions. They suffered their first home loss of the season this past weekend, losing 2-0 to FC Dallas. The Rapids have won once in their past eight games but are 5-3-1 at home this season.

Chicago Fire at New England Revolution, 7:30 p.m. (HDNet)

Chicago goalkeeper Jon Busch registered another shutout Saturday when Chicago defeated Chivas USA 1-0. Busch leads the League with eight shutouts and a 0.78 goals against average. Busch played in just three games in 2007, and just 20 games during the past three seasons. Rookie forward Patrick Nyarko, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 SuperDraft out of Virginia Tech, started for the first time on Saturday and scored his first MLS goal. This is the final meeting this season between the teams; Chicago has won the first two matches by a combined score of 7-0.

Chivas USA at Kansas City Wizards, 8:00 p.m (MS, Ch.5, DK, MLSLIVE.tv)

- This is the first meeting of the season between the clubs. Kansas City eliminated Chivas USA from last year's MLS Cup Playoffs.

- A four-game undefeated streak ended for Chivas against Chicago last week, 1-0. The Wizards' six-game undefeated streak also ended last weekend with a 2-0 loss at D.C. United.

- Cuban forward Maykel Galindo returned to the Chivas USA lineup last weekend, entering as a substitute in the 63rd minute. After leading the team in scoring last season with 12 goals, Galindo has appeared in just eight matches due to injury. He had not played since May 11.

Sunday, August 10

D.C. United at New York Red Bulls, 5:00 p.m. (MSG, DK, MLSLIVE.tv, WADO)

- This classic I-95 rivalry continues with the second meeting of the season, and the 49th all-time regular season contest. United leads the all-time series, 27-16-5.

- D.C. United beat the Red Bulls 4-1 earlier this season; Luciano Emilio tallied a hat trick for United.

- MLS original Jaime Moreno scored a goal and recorded an assist in D.C.'s 2-0 victory over Kansas City last Saturday. Moreno, the second leading goal scorer for United this season (seven goals) is also D.C.'s all-time leader in goals (22) and assists (18) versus New York.

- The Red Bulls will look to striker Juan Pablo Angel to lead their offense -- he missed the first game versus D.C. United with a herniated disc in his back.
