
MLS Issues Disciplinary Committee Decisions for Week 1

NEW YORK - The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended New York Red Bulls defender Ronald Zubar for one game and issued an undisclosed fine for serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent in the 47th of the Red Bulls' game against Toronto FC on March 6 (VIDEO). Zubar will serve the suspension during the Red Bulls' next MLS match on Saturday, March 12 against the Montreal Impact.
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine to Christian Bolaños for serious foul play in the 62nd minute of the Vancouver Whitecaps match against Montreal Impact on March 6. Bolaños will serve the suspension during Vancouver's next MLS match on Saturday, March 12 against Sporting Kansas City. (VIDEO)
In addition, the MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued New York City FC defender Frederic Brillant an undisclosed fine for play violating the league's policy of hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent in the 52nd minute against the Chicago Fire on March 6 (VIDEO).
On March 6, Houston Dynamo Head Coach Owen Coyle was dismissed by the official in the 90+ minute for irresponsible behavior in the technical area. Subsequently, the Houston Dynamo appealed the dismissal. The appeal was heard by the MLS Disciplinary Committee and upheld, therefore, the punishment has been rescinded and he is eligible to coach in the Technical Area for his next match against FC Dallas on March 12.
