MLS Disciplinary Committee Suspends and Fines D.C. United Forward Jaime Moreno

NEW YORK (Oct. 1, 2008) - The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today suspended D.C. United forward Jaime Moreno one game and fined him $250 for endangering an opponent with a blow to the head during United's game versus FC Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Moreno struck FC Dallas midfielder Andre Rocha in the face in the 84th minute of United's game versus FC Dallas on Sept. 28. Moreno was issued a red card for the offense. This fine and suspension are in addition to the automatic one game suspension and $250 fine for the red card, totaling a two-game suspension and a $500 fine. Moreno will miss United's next two matches, versus Chivas USA on Oct. 4 and versus the Houston Dynamo on Oct. 12.
