
Missouri's Shane Owen Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (November 12, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri Mavericks goaltender Shane Owen has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 10, 2013. This marks the second consecutive week that the Mavs goalie has won the award making his the first player to win the honor in consecutive weeks since Brett Jaeger (Texas Brahmas) did so during the 2009-10 season.

The Shanty Bay, Ontario native won back-to-back starts against the Wichita Thunder stopping 24 of 25 shots in Friday's 4-1 win in Missouri and then stopping all 27 shots he faced in his first shutout of the season on Saturday in Wichita (3-0 win).
Owen leads all goaltenders with a 1.32 goals against average on the season to go along with his 6-0 record and .954 save percentage. The Mavericks are undefeated on the season with an 8-0 record.
