Mississippi's Andrew Randazzo Named Easton Defenseman of the Year

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Friday announced that Andrew Randazzo of the Mississippi RiverKings has been selected as the Easton Defenseman of the Year in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives.

Columbus' Louis Belisle finished second in the balloting.

Now in his third season with the RiverKings, Randazzo led all defensemen with 38 points and 31 assists, while his +27 rating was tied with teammate Leo Thomas for best in the SPHL. Randazzo was also second among blue-liners with 11 power-play assists and 134 shots. Named to the All-SPHL First Team for the second consecutive season, Randazzo played three seasons for the QMJHL's Drummondville Voltigeurs, where he won the league's Kevin Lowe Trophy as Best Defensive Defenseman in 2010-11.

The SPHL will announce its Rookie of the Year on Monday.
