Mississippi Surge News Release
Gulfport, MS- The Mississippi Surge Hockey Team participated in United Way of South Mississippi's Day of Caring, as a way to give back to community and show support of local non-profits.
The entire hockey team, including coach Jef Bes, helped paint the facilities, restore skate ramps, and even gardening at Youth for Christ. The players come from all over North America, but are focused on making a positive impact in South Mississippi.
"As soon as our players get to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, they are committed to being part of this community," said Head Coach Jeff Bes. "Our players are so excited to partner with United Way of South Mississippi and start the Day of Caring a little early. We want to make an impact on the Coast."
United Way of South Mississippi will host the official Leo W. Seal, Jr Day of Caring on Friday, November 1st . The Surge will be at an away game on Friday, and requested to complete a project earlier in the week, so that they could help be a part of the volunteering effort.
