
Mississauga Power Gets Hawk'D

OTTAWA - The Ottawa SkyHawks enter game three of a four game stretch this weekend, and took on the Mississauga Power in a rematch tonight. This is the second match up against Mississauga, the SkyHawks took the victory 95-92 last weekend on November 16ths game.
The first two quarters were a slow start, with the teams sitting neck and neck until the third. In the beginning of the fourth, Tubbs lights up the court with his Slam-Dunk and took the SkyHawks to their win. Their seamless teamwork started to show through, with Crook and Sturdivant hitting the basket with partner steals and assists.
All game the Ottawa SkyHawks fought hard against the Mississauga Power, and it was apparent in their stats. Ryan Anderson almost scored a triple double, with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Jermaine Johnson got a double double, with 12 points scored and 14 rebounds.
The SkyHawks showed their skills with lots of ball handling in the first two quarters, which caused some rushed shots on both sides. They weren't deterred however, and changed tactics to revert back to their skills. In the third, the Hawks' were down 12 points. "We kept our composure during the course of the game. In the fourth quarter, we executed our offense to get the 'W'!" says Jamal Crook. Their offensive tactics worked well against the Power's defense, allowing them to score 40 points alone in the fourth including a monster slam dunk by Fred Sturdivant.
