Round Rock Express News Release
In many ways, Wednesday afternoon's game was one of the most remarkable games of the year for the Round Rock Express. The team showed the same kind of fight that has put Round Rock in the playoffs the last three years. However, San Antonio also showed why they have the best record in the Texas League.
The Missions scored three times in the top of the tenth to down the Express, 8-5 in front of a season high 11,156 at The Dell Diamond.
Down 5-1 in the eighth, Michael Rosamond started a furious rally with his third home run of the season. Mike Hill and Eric Cole then singled home runs to bring Round Rock to within 5-4.
In the ninth â against Texas League save leader Justin Hoerman â Chris Burke singled home the tying run with one out to bring Round Rock all the way back.
Then the tenth came. The Missions emphatically answered the Express with three runs on four hits off of losing pitcher Travis Wade (1-1). A RBI single by Luis Ugueto that broke the tie was the big blow.
Hoerman (1-3) got the blown save and the win.
The two teams will meet again Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.
