Blast Notes - The Blast earned a hard-fought 7-6 win over Cleveland last Friday, but fell 5-3 in Kansas City on Saturday...F David Bascome scored twice against the Force, his sixth multi-goal game of the season...F Giuliano Celenza, who has scored in six straight games, is 5th in the MISL with 48 pts and 2nd with 31 g...GK Sagu made 23 svs, a personal season high in Saturday's win...Baltimore leads the league in penalty minutes (271)...The Blast cheerleaders performed a USO-style variety show for wounded soldiers at Water Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Md., on April 12...The Blast, on the verge of playoff elimination, hosts Kansas City on 4/15 and travels to Chicago on 4/16.

Wave Notes - The Wave split a home-and-home series with Philadelphia over the weekend, and enters the week with a 2.0 game lead over the second-place KiXX in the standings...F Greg Howes leads the MISL in points (59) and goals (35)...GK Nick Vorberg leads the league in gaa (3.68), wins (20), and save percentage (.768)...D Chris Morman is 2nd in the MISL with 51 blk...The Wave's defense remains the best in the league, allowing only 4.3 goals per game...Milwaukee plays two games this weekend, with a 4/16 contest in St. Louis and a 4/17 home game versus Cleveland...The Wave completes its regular season with games on 4/23 at Cleveland and 4/24 versus Baltimore.

KiXX Notes - Philadelphia grabbed a 6-3 win in Milwaukee on Friday to kick off a home-and-home set, but failed to move any closer to the first-place Wave thanks to a 6-3 loss in Philly on Saturday...The KiXX, with only two games to play, are now 2.0 games behind Milwaukee...Peter Pappas was named Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday; he ranks 2nd in the league in gaa (4.45), w (18), svs (424), and sv% (.744)...Rookie F John Barry Nusum is 7th in the league with 44 pts...D Pat Morris leads the MISL with 91 blocks, nearly twice as many as the next-closest player...F Goran Vasic tops the MISL with 29 ast...F Kevin Sloan is T-10th with 42 pts...The KiXX host the Comets on 4/16, and end their season in K.C. on 4/23.

Steamers Notes - The Steamers' playoff position was damaged over the weekend with losses to Chicago (7-2 on Saturday) and Cleveland (10-8 on Sunday...St. Louis faces a magic number of two to clinch a playoff berth...F Carlos 'Chile" Farias is 2nd in the MISL with 57 pts, T-3rd with 29 g, and T-3rd with 28 ast...F Daryl Doran is 6th in the league with 46 pts and T-1st with 29 ast...GK Brett Phillips is 3rd in the MISL with a 4.98 gaa...The Steamers, who hold a 1.5 game lead over fifth-place Chicago, have three games to play, starting with a 4/16 match at home against Milwaukee...The Steamers' final game of the season could decide the league's fourth playoff participant: it comes on 4/23 vs. Chicago.

NOTABLE:

- The MISL and ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, jointly announced on Tuesday that an agreement has been reached which places the League's 2005 MISL Championship Series Finals live in prime time on ESPN2. The exclusive agreement features MISL Championship Series Finals Game One from U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee on Saturday, May 14 at 9:00 p.m. EST and Championship Series Finals Game Two from Savvis Center in St. Louis on Saturday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. EST.

- Philadelphia KiXX President Jeffrey B. Rotwitt has been elected as the new Chairman of the MISL Management Committee, effective immediately. Mr. Rotwitt will serve a two-year term.

- The 2005 MISL Championship Series kicks off the weekend of April 29 - May 1. Two of the league's four playoff spots remain up for grabs with two weeks remaining in the regular season. The Milwaukee Wave and Philadelphia KiXX are the only teams to clinch postseason berths thus far.

- St. Louis forward Carlos "Chile" Farias has a chance to unseat Milwaukee's Greg Howes as the MISL Spalding Scoring Champion. Farias, with 57 points, trails Howes, the defending Scoring Champ, by two points entering the week. Farias' Steamers have three regular season games to play, compared to four for Howes and the Wave.

- Indoor soccer legend Tatu, the former Dallas Sidekicks player and coach who is spearheading efforts to bring the MISL back to Dallas, and up-and-coming Kansas City Comets forward Ibrahim Kante are both currently featured on www.misl.net.
