April 13, 2005 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2) News Release
WESTPORT, Conn. (Wednesday, April 13, 2005) â The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that Philadelphia KiXX President Jeffrey B. Rotwitt has been elected Chairman of the MISL Management Committee, the League's chief governing body. Mr. Rotwitt, who will serve a two-year term as chairman, immediately assumes the position from outgoing Chairman Dick Dietrich, Chief Executive Officer of the Cleveland Force, who served as chair since November of 2002.
"Jeff brings a unique and extraordinary resumé to the position of chairman of the MISL Management Committee," stated MISL Commissioner Steve Ryan. "He has earned the respect of every one of his MISL partners, not only by orchestrating the resurgence of the Philadelphia KiXX, but through his distinguished background as a brilliant attorney and a successful business man. Jeff is the perfect successor to Dick, who exhibited an unwavering commitment to the success of the MISL and served the League in many capacities, including Chair of the Competition Committee in 2001-02, and the first-ever Chair of the MISL Management Committee."
When not overseeing the overall strategic vision of Philadelphia's professional indoor soccer team, Jeffrey Rotwitt is a Senior Partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. Recognized as one of Philadelphia's premier attorneys, Mr. Rotwitt serves as the Chairman of the firm's Business and Finance Department. He has been selected as one of Philadelphia's best lawyers by members of the Philadelphia Bar Association in polls taken in December 1994 and March 1999.
"I'm honored to have been elected by my fellow partners on the MISL Management Committee to serve as the League's new chairman," Rotwitt stated. "I'm encouraged by the direction of the MISL and hope to emulate the outstanding efforts of Chairman Dietrich. Dick's service and commitment to the League has been commendable and he has my sincere gratitude for his leadership during the formative years of the new Major Indoor Soccer League. I'm eager to serve in my new role and I'm excited about the growth and future of our sport."
For over 25 years, Mr. Rotwitt has been practicing corporate and real estate law at Obermayer. He has extensive experience providing counsel to the nation's largest firms in sophisticated and substantial investments and acquisitions.
Mr. Rotwitt received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Rotwitt also graduated from Penn's School of Law, where he was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor. He serves as an adjunct professor at Penn's School of Law teaching classes in entrepreneurship.
