GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Chris Damico, Kansas City Comets

The 34-year-old turned away 14 of 17 shots as the Comets defeated the first-place Milwaukee Wave last Thursday, and recorded another 14 saves in Kansas City's 6-5 overtime win against the Chicago Storm on Saturday. Damico also added an assist in Thursday's contest. Damico, who is 7-8 with a 6.31 goals against average overall, now holds a 6-2 record at Kemper Arena in 2004-05. The 11-year veteran was also named Goalkeeper of the Week on December 13.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Pat Morris, Philadelphia KiXX

Pat Morris wins sixth Defensive Player of the Week Award of the season after scoring three points and blocking five shots in Philadelphia's two weekend games. In a 7-3 win over St. Louis on Saturday, the 27-year-old registered three assists and blocked three shots. He added two rejections in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Baltimore. The three-time All-Star leads the MISL in blocks with 82 and also ranks 16th in scoring with 38 points (19 goals, 19 assists). Morris, who was named Defensive Player of the Month for December, has won more Defensive Player of the Week Awards than any other MISL player this season.

Jamar Beasley was heavily involved in both of Kansas City's wins last week, finishing with five points (two goals, three assists). In Thursday's 6-3 win over Milwaukee, Beasley notched a goal and assisted on two others, including James Koehler's game-winner 57 seconds into the fourth quarter. The 2003-04 Rookie of the Year followed up with another clutch performance on Saturday, scoring a fourth-quarter goal and recording the assist on Ibrahim Kante's overtime game-winner in a 6-5 victory over Chicago. For the season, Beasley has scored 18 goals and 28 points in only 19 games. The 25-year-old also earned Offensive Player of the Week honors on December 6.
