GOALKEEPER OF THE MONTH

Pappas went 19-8 with a 9.93 points against average in 2002-03, earning a spot on the All-MISL Second Team. The native of Toronto is a six-time All-Star and five-time All-League selection.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Hector Marinaro, Cleveland Force
A move to defense has not slowed the game's all-time leading scorer, as Hector Marinaro wins the MISL's defensive honors for October. In three games during the month, Marinaro scored a goal, recorded two assists, and blocked nine shots in helping the Force to a 2-1 record (3-1 overall). The award marks a full-circle transition for Marinaro, who began his indoor career in 1983 as a defender. The 38-year-old is the sport's all-time leader in goals with 1,202 and has recorded 687 assists and 475 blocks in 661 games over the course of his career. Marinaro stands as this League's all-time leader in goals (924) and points (2,304) and has also recorded 517 assists in 379 games. A six-time Most Valuable Player, Marinaro has scored 100 goals in a season four times and registered seven seasons of 200 or more points. The native of Toronto has been named the League's Offensive Player of the Week a record 27 times. Marinaro is currently tied for third in the MISL with 11 blocks.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
David Doyle, Dallas Sidekicks
Doyle led the MISL with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) during October, and currently leads the League in points (12) and assists (9). The native of Dublin, Ireland, began his season by scoring a goal and assisting on three others against Monterrey on October 4, and followed up with two more assists on October 5 against the Fury, earning Offensive Player of the Week honors on October 6. Doyle scored at least one point in all five Sidekicks games during the month, and also appeared in four games as Dallas' sixth attacker, totaling 9:40. The 38-year-old hit two significant milestones along the way: on October 19 against Cleveland he played in the 500th game of his lengthy indoor career, and on October 24 against Baltimore he notched the 400th assist of his indoor career, making him the 10th player in indoor history to record 400 goals and 400 assists.
