MISL Announces postponement of Monterrey Fury game on January 11, 2004

(Westport, Conn., January 8, 2004) â The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced on Thursday that the game between the Monterrey Fury and the St. Louis Steamers originally scheduled for Sunday, January 11, at Monterrey Arena has been postponed due to the Special Summit of the Americas. The Summit will be held beginning on Monday, January 12, and is utilizing the Arena as its press center. A rescheduled game date will be announced upon conferring with League, team, and Arena officials.
According to the official Summit website, http://usinfo.state.gov/regional/ar/summit/, the Special Summit of the Americas "will provide an opportunity for the democratically elected leaders of the hemisphere to meet together to discuss the shared interests in strengthening democracy and promoting prosperity and development throughout the hemisphere." President George W. Bush will attend the Summit, along with 34 other heads of state.
