MISL-AISL clash set between Storm, Rampage

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - The Major Indoor Soccer League's Chicago Storm and the American Indoor Soccer League's Rockford Rampage meet in a two-game, northern Illinois duel in early February.
The two teams play at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Sears Centre Arena as part of the Storm's School Day Game. Then on Saturday, Feb. 9, Chicago heads up to Rockford for a 7:30 p.m. match at the Victory Sports Complex in Loves Park. Last season, the Storm hosted the Rampage (formerly known as the Thunder) and won, 21-10.
"It's an important game because some of the players they have are local here," Storm head coach Steve Morris said of Rockford. "It's an opportunity for them to play at a different level against another professional league. As far as us, we have a camp program there, and Rockford is an important and viable market for viewers. We certainly want to showcase ourselves in that market."
Rampage head coach Jeff Kraft echoed Morris' sentiment. "It will be good to showcase the talent we have," Kraft said. "We have a couple people who played in the MISL, so some of the guys know what it takes. I hope we put on a good show for the kids, because it's all about the fans."
The Feb. 5 match represents the conclusion of an operational school assembly process known as "Storming Schools." Storm players speak to students about the importance of working hard, living clean and being smart. In the second phase of OSA, students are given a workbook, provided by the Daily Herald, focusing on integrating soccer and education. The third phase, students are treated to the School Day Game.
