Minnesota Swarm News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm announced today that the team has launched one of the nation's only social media reward programs in professional sports: Swarm Rewards.
The program gives Swarm fans the opportunity to earn points and prizes for interacting on the Swarm's Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as on foursquare and CrowdCameo during home games. The application was designed by row27.
"We are so excited to be able to provide our fans with real, tangible rewards for doing what they're already doing - talking about and interacting with the Swarm online," said Matt McCormack, Director of Brand Marketing for the Minnesota Swarm. "This will also be a great opportunity for our fans to help spread the word about how exciting Swarm games are.
"The team over at row27 consistently puts out great products like this, and we are thrilled to be working with them again."
Fans can participate in Swarm Rewards by liking and sharing Minnesota Swarm Facebook posts; retweeting @Minnesota_Swarm tweets; using select particular hashtags in tweets; checking into Foursquare at Swarm games; uploading photos to CrowdCameo during games; and by posting the message of the day to Facebook and Twitter from a Minnesota Swarm Rewards Profile page.
"Row27 is excited to launch our social rewards program for the Minnesota Swarm," said Jason Cole, Co-Founder/CEO for row27. "We believe the program will help the Swarm engage and reach more fans with their message this season."
Signing up is fast and earning points is easy. Visit www.swarmrewards.com to create an account today. Prizes will be awarded to fans that have accumulated the most points by June 1, 2012. The Grand Prize winner will receive a pre-game VIP experience in 2013 that includes four on the glass seats, a pre-game arena tour, dinner for four and exclusive access to the Swarm's bench during pre-game warms-ups. The 2nd Prize winner will receive six months of FREE pizza from Toppers Pizza. For a complete list of prizes, visit www.swarmrewards.com/rules
The Swarm will host a home doubleheader this weekend on Treasure Island Field at Xcel Energy Center for the first time since 2008. First up on the schedule for the Swarm is a meeting with division rival Edmonton (1-2) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. for Date Night at the Hive. Minnesota then gets the chance to avenge last weekend's 16-14 road loss to the Rochester Knighthawks (2-3) on Sunday at 2 p.m. during Dog Day at the Hive.
