
Minnesota Lynx Waive Cece Hooks

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived guard Cece Hooks.
Hooks, 5-11, appeared in one preseason game with Minnesota where she registered five points by connecting on one triple and two free throws in 11:40 minutes of play against Washington. During her final year of college, Hooks set both the MAC and Ohio University career scoring record after finishing her career with 2,843 points. She became the first player in MAC history to earn Defensive Player of the Year recognitions in four consecutive seasons (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21; co-winner in 2021-22). She finished the 2021-22 season leading her team in points (22.3), rebounds (8.4) and steals (2.9) per game.
The Lynx will tip-off their 24th WNBA season, presented by Mayo Clinic, at Seattle on Friday, May 6 at 9:00 p.m. CT. The Lynx return to Target Center for their home opener on Sunday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Washington Mystics.
