Minnesota Blizzard win, on top of NAHL Western Division

The Minnesota Blizzard Junior "A" Hockey team moved back on top of the NAHL Western Division Sunday night, by defeating the Helena Bighorns, 3-2 at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria. Mark Horbacz (Hinckley, MN) and Shawn Bitzan (Alexandria, MN) each collected two assists for the Blizzard. Josh Frider (Moorhead, MN) also had a two-point night for Minnesota, with a goal and an assist. Sean Fish (Ramsey, MN) and Tony Selvog (Warroad, MN) each scored a goal for the Blizzard. With a record of 19-10-2, the Blizzard now has 40 points, to lead the Western Division of the North American Hockey League. Helena is just one point back, in second place. The top four teams in the division are separated by only three points.

Minnesota will go for its 20th win of the season Monday night, December 27th, hosting Helena once again, at the Runestone Community Center. Game time is 7:00. The two teams will also play a 7:00 game Thursday evening, December 30th in Alexandria. These three games after Christmas mark the opening portion of a five-game trip for the Bighorns, who will be in Fargo-Moorhead, for games with the Jets December 31st and January 2nd.
