Miners to hold free on-field youth clinic

MESA, ARIZONA âThe Mesa Miners announced today that they will be holding their first-ever youth clinic at HoHoKam Park on Sunday, May 8 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. and admission is FREE for everyone.
The free on-field youth clinic for kids ages 5 to16 will be instructed by Miners manager Les Lancaster (a former Chicago Cubs pitcher) and several Miners players. Skills emphasized during the clinic include hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and base running. The clinic will begin at 12:30 p.m. and pre-registration is recommended by visiting www.MesaMiners.com where participants can fill out a registration and waiver form.
"This will be a great way for the whole family to spend a day at the park" said Miners general manager Becky Thielen. "Whether it is the youth clinic, stadium tours, kid's zone, autograph session, or the other activities planned, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The clinic led by Les and the players will be extremely helpful for the participating kids wanting to learn or improve their fundamental baseball skills."
Fans that purchase full and partial season ticket packages will be able to select their exact seat locations. Those who purchase a full season 54-game package, have the chance to win a real gold nugget valued at $500 or Miners season tickets for life. Also, individual game tickets ($5 to $13) to all regular season games will be available for the first time.
Other activities taking place include a team autograph session and stadium tours that will provide fans with a behind the scenes look at HoHoKam's clubhouse, press box, and other exclusive areas. A kid's zone will be set up with fun activities including inflatables and prizes. New Miners merchandise will also be available to purchase for the first time.
