Sussex County Miners News Release

Pomona, NY - The Sussex County Miners' six game road trip will have to wait for another night. Severe Thunderstorms in the area eventually caused tonights game between division rivals to be postponed.

The Miners sit four games behind the Boulders for the second wild card spot. With New Jersey facing Quebec for four games including a doubleheader this afternoon with Quebec winning game one and potentially winning game two, both teams look to take aim for a division title still up for grabs.

Tonight's game was to feature LHP Garrett Peters for the Boulders and new comer RHP Jacob Casson for the Miners. The doubleheader will feature two seven inning games with game one slated for a 3:30 first pitch.

This six game road trip gives Sussex County a big opportunity with the Jackals being on their remaining schedule seven times down the stretch. The Miners face fourth place Tri-City six more times as well as fifth place Trois-Rivières three times along with a clash with the Brockton Rox at the end.

With some successful outcomes this weekend, The Miners find themselves in a good spot despite a sweep at the hands of the red hot Florence Y'alls during the week.
