
Miners Announce "Miners Express" Bus Service

The Southern Illinois Miners announce a partnership with Rides Mass Transit District (RMTD) to create the "Miners Express," a bus that will transport fans between Carbondale and Marion before and after Miners home games in 2017 beginning on Tuesday, May 30th.
"We are very excited about this partnership with the Miners and what it means for fans and the area," said Rides Mass Transit District operations manager Adam Lach. "It is a wonderful opportunity for fans of any age to come out and enjoy some games, experience the conveniences of public transit and not have to worry about fighting traffic."
RMTD will be able to provide door-to-door services and can also pick up passengers at local park-and-ride locations in the Marion-Carbondale area. Fans can call (618) 993-1900 to schedule their ride.
The "Miners Express" will cost $2.00 to ride to all Miners home games beginning on May 30th for all adults (ages 11 and up). Fares for children between the ages of six and 10 years old will be $0.75, while children younger than six years old can ride for free. ALL children younger than 11 years old must ba accompanied by an adult to ride the "Miners Express."
Riders can enjoy a $2 discount on their game ticket by presenting a coupon from riding the "Miners Express" at the Rent One Park box office. After games, buses will depart Rent One Park at the conclusion of contests or post-game activites.
