Milwaukee Set to Host Chicago in First Round of Playoffs

Published on July 31, 2010 under Arena Football League (AFL) News Release

TULSA- After much discussion, the Arena Football League has announced that the Milwaukee Iron will in fact play host to the Chicago Rush in Milwaukee in next week's first round of Playoffs.

Due to renovations going on through the month of August, the Iron's usual home in the Bradley Center was unavailable. The Iron were forced to relocate to the smaller U.S. Cellular Arena for the postseason, leaving the Iron front office to consider traveling to the opposition's arena or a neutral site to ensure the best possible atmosphere. Realizing it was the fans, not the venue, that made the game, the event is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee as originally planned.

"This is the most fan-friendly game out there," Commissioner Jerry B. Kurz said. "The fans spoke and we listened. We implore those same fans who spoke up and petitioned to keep the game in Milwaukee to come out on Saturday and show their support in person as adamantly as they did via phone, email and message boards in the past few days."

The game will take place on Saturday, August 7 at 8 EST/7 CST. Tickets are available through each teams' websites: www.arenarush.com and www.mkeiron.com .
