
Milwaukee defeats Steamers in Game One

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Steamers dropped their first game to the Milwaukee Wave 4-3 in the MISL semifinals on Friday night at Savvis Center. The Steamers will travel to Milwaukee for game two on Sunday afternoon at 1:05.
St. Louis scored the games first goal early in the first quarter when Jeff Davis fed Justin McMillian who beat a defender and put a shot passed Wave goaltender Nick Vorberg. Mariano Bollella followed up a minute later to give the Steamers a 2-0 lead while Joe Reiniger registered an assist. Milwaukee would cut the lead in half to 2-1 when Lovelace Ackah scored at the 8:29 mark of the first quarter on an assist from Pat White.
St. Louis increased their lead to two goals at the 2:02 mark of the second quarter when Carlos Farias scored on a re-start opportunity. The Steamers would take a 3-1 lead into halftime.
The Wave would score three unanswered goals in the second half. Greg Howes notched the first goal at 3:01 of the third quarter and Todd Dusosky notched an assist. Dusosky followed up with a goal of his own to tie the score 3-3 with 2:46 remaining in the game. Matt Schmidt scored the winning goal 22 seconds later to give Milwaukee a 4-3 win and a victory in the first game of the series.
The Steamers and Wave will battle in game two of the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. The game can be heard live on KFNS Radio.
