Millrats Complete Sweep of Quebec

February 17, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Saint John Riptide News Release

Manchester, NH: The Manchester Millrats downed the visiting Quebec Kebekwa 147-116, thus completing a two game sweep of the Kebs. Manchester had been previously 0-4 against Quebec prior to this weekend.

Quebec received reinforcements for this game in the form of 6'6 forward Korran Rivers and 7'0 center Chad Bell, but the Millrats wasted no time pouncing on their opponents. Manchester led 40-25 at the end of the first quarter.

With starters Anthony Anderson and PJ Young sitting out the rest of the game, the Millrats bench provided a huge life. Newcomer center Cedric McGinnis was unstoppable in the post, and his presence created open shots for Manchester's perimeter players.

Al Stewart led the Millrats with 28 points, 13 assists, 9 steals, and 7 rebounds. McGinnis contributed 27 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks. Charles Mason scored 26 on 6-14 shooting from three point land, and Dwight Brewington scored 21 off the bench for the second straight game.

With the victory Manchester improves to 21-10 on the season, winning 8 of their last 9 games.

The regular season home finale for the Millrats will be next Saturday February 23rd at 1:35 pm versus the Jersey Express.
