Saint John Riptide News Release
(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats were swept away and embarrassed at home by the Island Storm 137-92.
"This was an unacceptable game on many levels," said Mill Rats President Ian McCarthy, "We had a small let down in the second quarter. but the game was still very winnable at the half. When further adversity struck in the third quarter, we packed it in, and that is the most discouraging part."
"We've noticed something off with our team over the last week and have been working around the clock to fix it, and so that will happen no question."
The Island Storm shot a blistering 73% from three point range (19-26) while Saint John shot 17%.
Gabe Freeman led Saint John with 18 points, Chris Smith had 17, Anthony Stover 13, Ricky Volcy 12, and Garrius Holloman 10. Morgan Lewis led the Storm with 21.
Saint John drops stands at 14-10 and in still holding down 2nd place in the Atlantic Division behind the 16-7 Halifax Hurricanes. The Mill Rats head out for 4 straight road games after today.
