
Mill Rats Road Winning Streak Ends in Halifax

(Halifax, NS): The Saint John Mill Rats three game road winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Halifax Rainmen, 122-104 at the Metro Centre.
The travel weary Mill Rats, who won 106-90 last night in Summerside after a two-win road trip to Ontario, hung tough through the first quarter, 27-27. They trailed just 44-42 with 5:33 left in the second quarter before the Rainmen went on a 12-2 run to grab a double digit lead. They held a 60-51 lead at the half.
In the third quarter Halifax began to pull away, leading by as many as 22. The Mill Rats cut the lead as close as 102-90 but never mounted a serious challenge the rest of the way.
Saint John's record drops to 3-4 while Halifax improves to 3-2.
Steve Deluca led the Mill Rats with 22 points. Anthony Anderson scored 19, Will Blalock 18, and Antoine Tisby 17. Joey Haywood led six Halifax players in double figures with 26.
