Saint John Riptide News Release

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats are pleased to release their 2014-15 regular season schedule.

The Mill Rats begin with two road matches in Monton and Charlottetown before opening at home on Sunday November 9th at 2:00pm vs the Island Storm.

"Between Harbour Station and the league we were able put together a much more balanced schedule that should be more accommodating for fans," said Mill Rats President & General Manager Ian McCarthy. "We've added zoned pricing tiers to make our games affordable to everyone, and we are working to bring more large groups as well."

Saint John announced yesterday that Julian King would be taking over the coaching reins this season. The Mill Rats are the defending Atlantic Division regular season champions, but want to build on that by challenging for an NBL Canada title this season.

"We are proud of a great season last year, but everything we are doing now is to build on that and really be in a position to win the title this season," continued McCarthy. "We want to get bigger, more athletic, and add some shot blocking to our front court."

Saint John hold four picks in next week's NBL Canada Draft, including the #2 pick overall which was acquired from Halifax in the Chris Matthews trade. The league requires every team to have at least 4 Canadians on the roster this season.

SEASON TICKETS

Season tickets are now on sale at the Harbour Station box office or by calling 506-657-1234. The Mill Rats have introduced new tiered pricing by zone which makes Mill Rats games affordable to all Saint Johners. If fans purchase 1,000 season tickets for the upcoming season by September 30th, then each adult fan will receive stock in the team as a bonus. Certain terms and conditions apply and a written statement of details and exclusions about this program will be on our website.
