
Mill Rats Post Dominating Performance for 5th Straight Win

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats posted a dominating performance, 147-99, over the Moncton Miracles en route to their 5th straight win.
Saint John got off to a solid start, leading 30-19 after the first quarter. They continued to build on the lead and went into intermission ahead 65-47.
In the third quarter the floodgates opened and the Mill Rats poured it on...and on...and on. A blistering 3-point barrage, pesky defense, and a fast break attack propelled the Mill Rats to a 40 point lead, 108-68, at the end of the third.
In the fourth quarter, the lead ballooned to as many as 54, at 145-91, with 2:13 remaining.
Johnny Mayhane led seven Mill Rats in double figures with 25 points, Raheem Singleton & Kenny Jones had 18 points each, Tyrone Levett 17, Keith Cothran 15, Alex Johnson 13, and Darin Mency 10. Johnson also had 15 assists. Tramar Sutherland led Moncton with 22.
The Mill Rats shot 19-37 (51%) from three point range, and outrebounded Moncton 50-33.
Saint John improves to 12-13 while Moncton drops to 6-16
The Mill Rats head to Halifax tomorrow to face the Rainmen at 2PM at the Scotiabank Centre.
