(Charlottetown, PEI): The Saint John Mill Rats posted a huge road win to open the 2015-16 NBL season, 121-106, over the Island Storm at the Eastlink Arena.

The first quarter saw the hosts gain a 7 point advantage midway, but Corey Allmond's three pointer at the quarter buzzer drew Saint John to within 31-32.

In the second quarter, the Mill Rats began to really heat up and execute on all cylinders. Saint John put 42 points on the board and opened up a commanding 73-52 halftime lead.

The Storm mustered a few runs, coming as close as 13 points, but Saint John regained control each time and finished the job.

The Mill Rats shot a blistering 21-41 from behind the arc (51%).

Anthony Anderson led the Mill Rats with 24 points and 10 assists, Corey Allmond had 20 points, Gabe Freeman 18 points and 10 rebounds, Doug Herring 17 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and Ricky Volcy had 15 points and 15 rebounds. Malcolm Grant scored 24 for the Storm.

Saint John hosts the Halifax Hurricanes Sunday at 4PM at Harbour Station.
