Saint John Riptide News Release

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats are pleased to announce the addition of talented 6'6 wing, Jamine Peterson, pending FIBA clearance.

Peterson averaged 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds a game in 2009-2010, his sophomore season for Providence College in the Big East, before going pro.

After a stint in Greece, he impressed NBA scouts in pre-draft workouts but went undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft (ESPN article May 7: ect-jamine-peterson).

He has also played in the Philippines and for a couple of seasons in the NBA Development League. While with the Sioux Falls SkyForce he posted an incredible 40 point - 13 rebound night.

Dime Magazine in 2010 called him "the Human Highlight Reel Jamine Peterson."

"Jamine is a guy who has incredible athletic ability and skill," said Mill Rats General Manager Ian McCarthy. "We've been searching for that dynamic scorer at the wing to complement Double A and Kenny, and we think Jamine will be that guy."

The Mill Rats next game is Thursday night at 7pm at Harbour Station in a rematch against the Halifax Rainmen! Get your tickets at www.harbourstation.ca
