He played in all 24 games that season and scored his first points with a goal and an assist in a winning effort against the Syracuse Silver Knights.

"I've loved my time with the Comets and I'm forever thankful to my coaches, Kim (Roentved) and Goran (Karadzov) and a special thanks to Vlatko (Andonovski) who has been my coach and friend for many years," said Ivanovic. "I also want to thank the players and staff of FC Kansas City, it has been an honor to work with two Championship Organizations."

Ivanovic joined the staff as an assistant coach and camp director for FC Kansas City during the team's 2015 NWSL Championship run.

The Belgrade, Serbia native looks forward to returning home with his family as he begins the next phase of his life.

"The friendships I've developed with both teams will last me a lifetime. Even though I will be an ocean away, I will spend many late nights in front of my TV cheering on FCKC and the Comets."
